Making brown on purpose

Image
When playing with a wide variety of colours, we often end up with brown after awhile. Sometime's this can feel accidental. After reading a vintage Richard Scarry book and in one section it showed how to make brown, I started thinking, what if we made brown on purpose? Mixing. Noticing what colour you might need to add to make it more brown. Painting trees for our cherry blossom's to hold onto.

Colour's in Nature

Last week when we were at the playground, one of the children noticed that you could see things through my water bottle. More children came over to see and they enjoyed looking at their world through a different lens. This gave us the idea to search for colours in nature and bring coloured lenses to look through, to see how colours change. We found brown trees and green moss: We found grey rocks and orange stumps: We found purple and pink flowers: We then tried holding up a lens to see what colour these item's would become. Comment's I heard: "Wow, it's green now!" "Everything look's red" "The sky looks even MORE blue!" "I wish it was always this colour" "Now the flower is purple"
