Friendship chain and interviews - Caring

Image
The children were cutting strips of pink and red paper and gluing them into loops. The loops were carefully connected to each other as a symbol of friendship. As the children were cutting and glueing, I interviewed them about the child sitting beside them. Everyone was sitting next to someone they don't usually play with. When everyone had made some chain links we joined them into one big chain.

Buttons - Generosity

For our group time I brought a mysterious blue sack with me. It was quite heavy, and the items inside made a sound. The children tried guessing what could be inside the bag. Everyone agreed it was probably some sort of treasure. The bag was filled with hundreds of different buttons. I handed out a cup to each child. We took turns taking a button for our own cup and also choosing a button for a friend in our circle. After going around the circle a few times we observed our collection of different buttons in our cups and we showed each other the shapes and colours that we had. Simone said we shared some treasure with our friends. We had many shiny buttons to hold and appreciate.
